Construction Season 2022
As always, check current NOTAMS for airfield status. Contact Ken Nichols, Project Manager, at (206) 584-5544 with questions or concerns.
The 2019 Juneau International Airport Sustainability Master Plan recommended several projects needed for safety and capacity improvements, including various reconfiguration and/or rehabilitation projects to Taxiways A, D1 and E. Construction activities began in spring 2020 and will be completed in 2022.
In 2020, construction work was completed to resurface Taxiway A, relocate Taxiway D1, and construction began for a new airport lighting regulator vault (ALRV).
In 2021, Taxiway E was relocated, and work continued on the ALRV. Also during 2021, FAA began upgrades to the runway visual range (RVR) system.
In 2022, Final installation of airfield electrical systems will be completed for commissioning of the ALRV and FAA will install the remaining components for the upgrades to the RVR system.
